A Report on Centre Festival 3: Old Vs. New

In the past people had to work much harder as they did not have tools which made their work easier. Today, most of the difficult work is done by computers and other machines. While technology has definitely made things easier, we also notice that there was a certain charm of the past that we sometimes miss.
Food habits in the past are natural and nowadays most of the people addicted to more junk/fast foods. In earlier days, communication was all about letters or telegrams but now because of fast growing technology, we have smart phones and social media, we can pass the information very quickly. In earlier days, children were playing games in the ground or on roads with their friends which kept them fit and strong but these days children just focus on the games in mobile phones which affect their well-being. Olden day’s transportation was difficult as they used to travel by animal driven carts but since the modern transport has arrived the way of life has become easier.
On Wednesday, 20 December 2023, the Foundation Centre I organised a festival on the theme Old Vs New. The main objective of the festival was to enable the children about the importance of healthy life style.
The programme comprised of two parts – first the stage performance by the students and second the exhibition.
The programme on the stage was started by lighting the ceremonial lamp by the teachers. The sub-themes of the theme were the Food, Communication, Games and Transportation. The programme included anchoring, dances and watching video-clips by the students. 93 students took part in this celebration which made it joyful, dazzling and informative to the students.
After the stage performance, students were taken to visit the exhibition where in different pictures and models of food items, communication devices, old and new games and scenario of olden and present days transportation were exhibited.
The Centre Festival on the theme – Old Vs New, was a great learning experience for the students to know about the pros and cons of olden days and modern days.
