A REPORT ON PRASTHAN EXHIBITION - 2024-2025
Venue: Dream World School. 2024–2025
‘Prasthan Exhibition’, the Science Exhibition is a platform for the students to promote their talents and creativity. In order to endorse research skills and kindle innovative ideas among students, we organise ‘Prasthan Exhibition’ every year in our school. This is a great opportunity for our students to motivate their competencies in thinking, creativity and scientific skills. We believe that one should learn science by practical or experimental approach rather than mere reading textbooks or theory.
This exhibition cultivates scientific approach and reasoning skills among the aspirants and the best models will be qualified for CBSE Science Exhibition at Regional Level in Bengaluru, later at National Level in New Delhi.
On Wednesday, 21 August 2024 and Thursday, 22 August 2024, the student teams of classes VI to IX presented their Projects/Models ardently for the screening test. They were assessed by the respective subject teachers. The best 55 exhibits were selected for ‘Prasthan Exhibition’ out of 92 exhibits in all, as they scored 50% and above in the assessment.
On Saturday, 24 August 2024, the ‘Prasthan Exhibition’ commenced at 09:45 a.m. by lighting the lamp followed by a welcome speech by the ‘Prasthan Wing’ Student leader Pranav H. of class IX. We celebrated the ‘National Space Day’ by knowing the facts about Chandrayaan-3’s success. After the seminar, students performed skits to show work behind the accidental discoveries, mystery unsolved and tricks of chemistry. Later, the exhibition was declared open.
The exhibition was open for all the students, school parents and well-wishers from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This exhibition included still models, working models and study based projects which were innovative and notable. The projects echoed the theme - ‘SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR SOCIETY’. Some of the models were ‘Algae Wave’, ‘Light from Trash’, ‘Plant Doctor’, ‘Saline Alarm, ‘Hydroelectricity at Crest Gate’, ‘Flood Prevention Dams’.
Students explained the details of their respective models to the visitors enthusiastically. The visitors observed all the models of the exhibition with curiosity and gave their appreciation to many and suggestions to a few that inspired them to perform better in the future.
Hence, the ‘Prasthan Exhibition’ boosted the confidence levels of our students and ignited the zeal to continue with the scientific temper.
