Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival that pays homage to Lord Ganesh, the remover of obstacles, and celebrates the day of his birth.  Ganesh Chaturthi is a ten-day Hindu festival celebrated to honour the elephant-headed God Ganesh on his birthday. He is the younger son of God Shiva and Goddess Parvathi. He is honoured at the beginning of every ritualistic ceremony as he is considered the God of Beginnings. He is widely and dearly referred to as Ganapati or Vinayaka, the God of arts and sciences and of wisdom.

On Friday, 6th September 2024, the Foundation Centre II organised a Centre Festival on the theme ‘Ganesh Festival’. The main objective of the festival was to acknowledge the students about the importance of offerings like Durva grass and Modaks to God Ganesh and Performing sit-ups infront of his idol and about his curse on Moon.

The venue of the centre festival was the school quadrangle which was decorated beautifully based on the theme. The program began by lighting the lamp before the idol of God Ganesh and Goddess Saraswathi with a prayer song sung by a group of students.

The program was highlighted by the theme of “Ganesh” with different sub themes. The program also comprised with heart-touching video-clippings, skits and dances performed by the students. The skits and dances performed by the students emphasised the topic and  entertained the students with a message.

The Centre Festival was a successful one in acknowledging the students with the information about the favourite and important things offered to God Ganesha on the day of festival. It was mainly a platform for the students to exhibit their skills of communication by taking part in various activities enthusiastically to build confidence in them and to overcome the stage fear.
