National Sports Day
The
National sports day is celebrated in India on every 29 August as a tribute to
the Indian legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. The day marks the birth
anniversary of hockey wizard, Major Dhyan Chand. He was a great player and he
won the gold medals in Olympics for India in the years 1928, 1932 and 1936.
Sports
help us to improve both physical and mental strength. Our body remains fit and
healthy. National Sports ceremony provides opportunity for healthy excitement
and joy.
We celebrated the
National Sports Day on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 in our school playground. All
the students of class VI to class X, teaching staff and sports faculty took
part in the celebration.
The programme began at 4:00 p.m. with
the introduction about Major Dhyan Chand, given by FSSA student head Krishna
Saket of class IX.
The students were explained about the importance of Sports
and the relevance of National Sports day by VAG army student secretary Harshith
Nambur of class IX. Another student secretary of VAG army Abhishek Patil of
class IX organized a quiz for students regarding sports. The students actively
participated in the quiz and came to know much information about sports. Later,
some students of class VI to class X played Kabaddi, Football and Hockey with
great enthusiasm and pleasure. A great interest was observed among the students.
The teachers encouraged and cheered them up while they were playing. The
atmosphere of the programme took a festive look.
This programme helped our students in
developing the team spirit, realising the significance of sports and positive
attitude towards sports.
