A Report on the Celebration of Sri Krishna Janmashtami

Shri Krishna Janmashtami, an annual Hindu festival is the celebration of the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is celebrated on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Krishna paksha in the month of Shravana of the lunar hindu calendar. According to the hindu religious epics, Lord Krishna was born around 5,200 years ago in Mathura as the eighth child of Devaki and Vasudeva. Sri Krishna lived on this land to show the path of morality, righteousness, love and the intellectuality of knowledge.
Lord Krishna is called by different names like Krishna, Giridhara, Shyamasundara, Govardhana, Madhva, Murari, Navaneeta Chora, Gopala, Muralimanohara, Mukunda and many more. Each and every name of Lord Krishna has importance.
On Thursday, 18 August 2022, the Foundation Centre-I celebrated Shri Krishna Janmashtami festival in a splendid way. The main objective of the festival was to facilitate the children to learn the importance of Shri Krishna Janmashtami as well as different names of Lord Krishna and their importance.

The celebration expanse of Janmashtami was colourful with flowers and painted pots. The celebration began with the most auspicious pooja to the sacred Govu which resembles the abode for all gods and goddesses. Later on, the teachers of kindergarten lit the ceremonial lamp to give a positive start for the celebration. The students were dressed up as little Krishnas, Radhas, Gopikas making the place of celebration a mini Brindavan.
The celebration of Sri Krishna Janmashtami comprised of anchoring, dances and watching video-clips depicting the different names of Sri Krishna and their importance. 90 students took part in the programme making it colourful, cheerful and an informative one carrying joy and the feeling of unity among the students of kindergarten.
